The Talisman

Just a ring of tin and glass,

With the words “For Time to Pass.”

One thing was clear,

She held it dear.

T’was kept on a chain of brass.

A noise, then a sudden fright.

The instinct to freeze, then fight.

The necklace clasp,

Within her grasp.

Her talisman for the night.
